IFCU Delegation at Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), Barcelona: From a Courtesy Visit to a Strategic Working Session
On 26th September 2025, the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) Secretary General, Prof. François Mabille, and Dr. Montserrat Alom, Director of the Federation’s International Center for Research and Decision Support, had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Josep Antoni Rom Rodríguez, Rector of Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), Barcelona, and holding a strategic working session with Dr. Carlo Maria Gallucci Calabrese, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Students and the new representative of the Federation of European Catholic Universities (FUCE) on IFCU’s Board of Administration.
Alongside being received with outstanding hospitality, the conversation was highly insightful as it allowed us to identify concrete avenues for joint work that will benefit the future of the Federation and its members worldwide.
We were honoured to be welcomed within a prestigious university, renowned nationally and internationally, society-oriented and unique in its governance, which brings together leading schools and institutes, including ESADE Business School, from which Dr Gallucci Calabrese comes.
Our warm thanks to Dr. Rom and Dr. Gallucci for their time and vision. We are confident that their continued contribution within IFCU will be highly beneficial to the entire community of Catholic higher education.
